Younger Generations Turn to Crypto: Bernstein Report on Financial Preferences

A new report by Bernstein reveals that the American brokerage Robinhood is poised to benefit from a generational shift in financial preferences. Younger investors are increasingly gravitating toward cryptocurrency and blockchain-based solutions, while older generations remain skeptical. According to FINRA data, around 48% of cryptocurrency holders are under the age of 34, and 55% of Gen Z traders in the U.S. prefer investing in cryptocurrencies. With 65% of assets under management coming from clients under 43, Robinhood is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. Research indicates that younger generations view the current banking system as expensive, slow, and outdated, instead favoring blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi). This generational shift in financial behavior could shape the future of banking and investment platforms.
