U.S. National Debt Approaching $35 Trillion

According to new data from the U.S. Treasury, the national debt has reached $34.99 trillion. Analysts from J.P. Morgan Chase warned investors that underlying risks are associated with the increasing budget deficit and the high levels of U.S. government debt. The bank predicts that there will be no significant improvement in the financial outlook of the U.S. in the medium term. J.P. Morgan advises investors to go beyond the traditional 60/40 portfolio and consider non-dollar assets and real assets such as infrastructure, gold, and commodities to protect against dollar devaluation and inflation. The bank warns that the growing debt and budget deficit limit U.S. financial flexibility and the government’s ability to respond to future economic downturns.
