Public Still Prefers Cash Over Central Bank Digital Currencies

According to a Deutsche Bank survey of 4,850 people in Europe, the UK, and the US, 44% prefer using cash instead of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). 57% of respondents prefer debit or credit cards over CBDCs, and only 16% believe CBDCs will become widespread. Meanwhile, 94% of central banks worldwide are examining the use of CBDCs. Privacy concerns are one of the main reasons for resistance to central bank digital currencies.
