The elections for the third General Assembly of the “Iran Blockchain Association” were held.

The third General Assembly of the Iran Blockchain Association took place on Shahrivar 12, 1402, during which Abbas Ashtiani was re-elected as the association’s CEO for another two-year term.

New Term for the Blockchain Technology Association

The third General Assembly of the Iran Blockchain Association was held at Azadi Innovation Factory with the presence of 148 members and inspectors. The agenda included the election of the new board of directors and an inspector for the association.

The Blockchain Technology Association, also known as the “Iran Blockchain Association,” began its activities on Khordad 6, 1396. Its founding members, active participants in Iran’s blockchain industry, established this non-governmental organization for the blockchain community in Iran. After initial elections, the association was officially recognized on Tir 9, 1396, and began drafting its bylaws and setting up its communication channels.

Speaking to Blockchain Research Journal, Ashtiani explained that since 2017, the association has provided critical warnings during key moments, such as regarding the TatalooCoin, KarbalaCoin, and foreign exchanges like CoinEx, which was recently hacked. The association has also contributed educational content on state media about rented accounts, rented identities, and investment scams. As an advisor to the government on regulatory matters, Ashtiani noted the association’s involvement in three government resolutions related to cryptocurrency mining and its recommendations to the National Cyberspace Center.

In the recent elections, Abbas Ashtiani was re-elected as CEO for another two years. Mohammad Hasan Mohammadi Ardehali was elected as Chairman of the Board. Other board members include Abbas Ashtiani with 117 votes, Mahkameh Sharifzadeh with 70 votes, Mohammad Hasan Mohammadi Ardehali with 55 votes, Nima Naeimikhah with 51 votes, and Seyed Omid Alavi with 46 votes. Soheil Nikzad, with 43 votes, was chosen as the alternate member of the board. Additionally, Ali Babaknia, with 76 votes, was elected as an inspector, and Asghar Sadrolsadati, with 18 votes, as the alternate inspector.
