Editorial of Issue One

Blockchain Research Journal; A Monthly Publication for Turning Cryptocurrency Disruption into Opportunity; with a Focus on Regulatory Issues and Foresight of Blockchain in Iran and the World, Aimed at Enhancing the Nation’s Capabilities.
Bitcoin is the first private, open-source, decentralized monetary system based on digital computation in human history. From one perspective, money is nothing more than an accounting system. Bitcoin is not a new form of money; it is money of a different kind. It is a phenomenon that does not necessarily or rapidly replace money but completely changes its nature and function. Following Bitcoin, other tokens and coins were created on the blockchain with various applications, and different services were defined or developed for them. An ecosystem with numerous advantages over the dominant global monetary and banking system has been built in a very short time.
Today, storing, exchanging, and transferring assets and some financial services on the blockchain are cheaper, faster, and more transparent than any bank worldwide. This phenomenon is undoubtedly a disruptor of the centuries-old global banking system and the monetary order reliant on the dollar.
In Iran, cryptocurrencies provide a breathing space against oppressive sanctions and offer new opportunities for financial and commercial transformation. These tools can help us define global mechanisms with minimal reliance on the dollar or other fiat currencies and introduce a new approach to development, trade, and entrepreneurship in Iran.
What Is This Monthly Publication About?
This monthly journal responds to national challenges by turning cryptocurrency disruption into an opportunity to enhance the country’s capabilities in a challenging world. We study, compile, and analyze global experiences, risks, dangers, and opportunities, and each month, we present a summary of the richest possible content to our influential and decision-making audience. In this journal, the price of Bitcoin doesn’t matter, nor do the cryptocurrency markets, exchange rates, daily trading, or market hype, which often make up the bulk of existing cryptocurrency content. Our focus and scope are on examining and explaining the governance, regulatory challenges, and foresight of blockchain and encrypted assets in Iran and the world. We hope this effort brings greater awareness and benefit to our esteemed audience.
In this pre-issue, alongside many other insightful topics, we explained how the United States has attacked cryptocurrencies to safeguard the global dominance of the dollar. We provided a detailed explanation of the federal government’s role in regulation. We discussed how, in Iran, capital gains tax leads to the migration of technology and investment out of the country, and we touched on the delays in establishing a cryptocurrency channel between Iran and Russia.
We are at the beginning of a challenging journey, and we humbly seek the cooperation of all experts, entrepreneurs, managers, and decision-makers in the country.
Our ongoing commitment to our audience is to provide the richest, most accurate information and the clearest analyses related to the governance of crypto-assets and blockchain.
Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Activists’ Efforts
Over the years, elite activists and reputable media outlets have worked with great enthusiasm and energy to advance blockchain and cryptocurrency knowledge in Iran. While expressing gratitude to all these dedicated individuals, I hope that the Blockchain Research Journal can contribute further to this ecosystem through its activities.
I would like to extend my thanks to the hardworking and expert team who supported me at the start of this journey, as well as to the managers of Wallex Exchange, whose financial backing made it possible to offer this service to Iran’s economy and the blockchain ecosystem.
