Initiation of Cryptocurrency Regulation at the National Center for Cyberspace

This draft was prepared by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance as the responsible entity (according to the National Cyberspace Strategy Document) and submitted to the National Center for Cyberspace.

The draft document for cryptocurrency regulation was reviewed by the Supreme Commission for Cyberspace Regulation. This draft, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance as the responsible body (according to the country’s cyberspace strategic document), was submitted to the National Center for Cyberspace. In this session, various components of the draft were examined with the participation of representatives from relevant institutions, including the Central Bank, private sector organizations, and legal experts. Once finalized, this document will serve as a comprehensive framework for legislation on cryptocurrency regulation and the activities of stakeholders in this field. Previously, the Central Bank had planned to introduce a regulatory document for cryptocurrencies, but this was canceled due to opposition from Parliament members and the emphasis placed on the country’s cyberspace strategic document.
